Start-ups, business angels and other investors can find standard texts for their most important contracts and documents here. These texts are not only as simple and technically consistent as possible, but also take into account the interests of the different parties in as balanced a way as possible.

In order to achieve a high degree of equality, the texts of the German Standards Setting Institute are created by working groups in which all stakeholders are represented in addition to experts in the field.

The process of standardization does not end with the publication. Anyone who would like to can comment on the texts or make suggestions. The respective working group will review the comments periodically and make textual changes as necessary.

It is important to note that the standard documents cannot replace individual legal and tax advice. For instance, someone who is dealing with the topic of convertible loans for the first time, whether as an angel or a start-up, will likely need expert advice for overall understanding, but the standard document can also help them to find their way around more quickly and to better identify the need for advice.

The documents are generally written simultaneously in German and English, with the German version being the legally binding one. The documents are freely downloadable and adaptable to individual needs.

The German Standards Setting Institute is a joint venture of Business Angels Netzwerk Deutschland e.V. (BAND) (Business Angels Network Germany)
and Startup Verband (Association of German Startups).
